what's with all the rock? What about rap?

I like some rock, like guns and roses,
And dragonforce.
But I like rap much more.
Tupac, eminem, lil' Wayne, young jock and 50 cent are amazing.
Who agrees?

I despise rap. IN MY OPINION it's just loads of word spewing at phenomal speeds with annoying tunes backing them up.

I like rock and classical.

I like Classical because it has a depth and power (no not as in "LOUD", as in actual "drama") that most genres can only dream of. It expresses things without the need of words, and can be the most emotional music. The many instrumets together can make one, flowing, beautiful sound. People
dislike classical because their minds are geared towards simple things.

I like rock because it is very powerful and primatively pleasing with its repetitive beats and volume. It
is also a great outlet for social commentary-people can listen to Holiday with its incredible rythms and
hear the awesome words too. Rock gives a rush that many genres can't manage in my
opinion.

So why do you like rap?

I enjoy rap because, in some cases, the people are speaking from the heart, about their neighbourhood, how poor their conditions are (see tupac)
In others, I enjoy the beat.

Rock and Rap. They are obviously two different things.

Rock is full of riffs and solos, bass taps and drum fills. Rock used to be an original art that made 4 decades memorable. Many greats have emerged from the pile. Led Zeppelin, Journey, Nirvana, and Pink Floyd. Rock has yet to run its course. Although, nowadays, "rock bands" have completely decimated the reason behind rock. It has no soul. It's just all corporate mumbo jumbo.

Rap....well where do I begin. Rap used to be about some pretty cool stuff. Now it's about drugs, prostitution, and violence. Particularly, revolutionary violence. It's been a well kept secret that rap is the beating war drum for the black community. If you can manage to decifer the lyrics in the songs, you will figure out that it's about hate towards the white and latino population. All these white rappers have no idea what it means, because if they did, they wouldn't be rappers. Rap is just another fad that, if you are starting to pay attention, is starting to run its course.

It will be right there with Techno,Pop,and Jazz in terms of popularity.
